5 FD SLE TROOPS DOUSE FIRE IN “BATHI POOJA” INCENSE STICK STORE AND ADJOINING CLOTH STORE IN PANNIPITIYA

It was a quick movement with rapid action plan by 5 Field Engineer Regiment (SLE) under command to 142 Infantry Brigade of the 14 Infantry Division to attend dousing a sudden fire that had broken out in the Bathi Pooja Incense Manufacturing Company and a Garment Factory at Mahalwarawa area of Pannipitiya belonging to Section 08 AOR (GR 095819) on 12 February 2024.

2x20 tps of the 5 Field Engineer Regiment were quick to rush to the above location to douse the fire with the troops fighting alongside with Policemen, Firefighting Brigade, and civilians in the area within a short period preventing the fire from further spread.
