14 CBRNE RESPONSE REGIMENT HOSTS EXPERTISE SHARING WORKSHOP FOR VIP PROTECTION COURSE

14 Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear and Explosive (CBRNE) Response Regiment recently conducted a comprehensive one-day workshop on 06 April 2024 at the 4 Commando Regiment Ganemulla. The workshop focused on sharing expertise knowledge related to explosives, Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), and Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear (CBRN) Response.

The workshop was organized into two sessions, with the first session covering an introduction to explosives and IEDs. This segment delved into the various types of explosives, their characteristics, detection methods, and safety protocols. Participants gained valuable insights into identifying potential threats and handling explosive-related scenarios.

The second session focused on an introduction to CBRN Response, a critical aspect of modern security and protection strategies. Attendees learnt about the different types of CBRN threats, including chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear hazards. The session emphasized proactive measures, response protocols, and mitigation strategies essential for effective CBRN management.

The workshop was tailored specifically for the VIP Protection Course of the Commando Regiment, aiming to enhance the knowledge and skills in CBRNE aspects crucial for safeguarding VIPs and critical assets. Two officers and five other ranks from the 14 CBRNE Response Regiment conducted the workshop, blending theoretical insights with practical demonstrations to ensure a comprehensive learning experience.
