12 FIELD ENGINEER REGIMENT WELCOMES NEWLY APPOINTED GENERAL OFFICER COMMANDING 61 INFANTRY DIVISION

The General Officer Commanding, 61 Infantry Division Major General RAJN Ranasinghe RSP USP ndc made his inaugural visit to 12 Field Engineer Regiment on 24 August 2023 after assuming duties as the GOC, 61 Infantry Division. The General Officer Commander, 61 Infantry Division was warmly welcomed by the Commanding Officer of 12 Field Engineer Regiment Lt Col DGEMRB Dhammanthota psc SLE, all Officers and Other Ranks.

The visit was commenced from drive pass, unit briefing, troop address, planting a mango sapling and followed by Camp visit. During the troop address he emphasis the importance of up keeping morale of soldiers throughout military career despite all hardship. The visit of GOC, 61 Infantry Division was terminated after the All-rank tea while leaving important memories for the history of 12 Field Engineer Regiment. The Commander 612 Infantry Brigade and Staff Officers of the 61 Infantry Division were present during the visits.
