The Inter Battalion Officers 'Quiz Competition designed to improve the Military and General Knowledge of Army Officers serving within the Jaffna Peninsula, was organized by the 51 Division under instructions of Commander Security Forces - Jaffna, Major General Ruwan Wanigasooriya.
A team comprised of 5 members each from 30 Battalions under command to Security Forces - Jaffna competed during the initial stages and 16 teams were selected for the 2nd round. Eight teams were then selected from the second round and Four teams were selected for the Semi Finals where 2 teams that emerged victorious qualified for the Grand Finals.
The 10 Field Engineer Regiment emerged as Champions and Major Thiwanka Kannangara became Best Competitor. The 1st Battalion of Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment was placed Runners Up.
The Final round and the awarding ceremony held on 04 November 2019 at the Security Forces – Jaffna auditorium. Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and awarded the Certificates and Prizes for the Champions and Winners of Inter Battalion Quiz Competition in the presence of Commander Security Forces - Jaffna. General Officers Commanding (GOC) 51, 52 and 55 Divisions, Commander Forward Maintenance Area (North), Brigadier General Staff and Brigadier Admin and Quartering Security Forces - Jaffna, Senior Army Officers were among the gathering of officers serving in Jaffna to witness the grand finale and the awarding ceremony.
