The 1 Field Engineer Regiment celebrated its 69th Anniversary at the 1 Field Engineer Regiment Headquarters, Panagoda on 01 October 2020.
1 Field Engineer Regiment was formed on 01st October 1951 and during its life-span of the past 69 years, the regiment has been commanded by 30 Commanding officers to-date. A special tree planting ceremony was organized to mark the 69 anniversary by overlooking Commanding Officer Major RT Ganegoda SLE together with all officers, SNCOs and NCOs.
