FAREWELL CEREMONY OF MAJOR GENERAL SADAD GUNAWARDANA RWP RSP

A farewell ceremony for Major General SADAD Gunawardana RWP RSP was held at the Regiment Centre on in view of his retirement after completion of over 34 years of successful service in Sri Lanka Army. The traditional event unfolded on 30 June 2020 at Regimental Centre, Kuruwita with the participation of a large number of Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks.

COMMANDANT SLAVF ADDRESSES COLONEL COORDINATING OFFICERS, COMMANDING OFFICERS AND NEWLY PROMOTED COLONELS AND LIEUTENANT COLONELS OF SRI LANKA ARMY VOLUNTEER FORCE

Headquarters Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force today (25 June) conducted a formal address for Colonel Coordinating Officers, Commanding Officers and recently promoted Colonels and Lieutenant Colonels of Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force presided by Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force Major General T S Bangsajayah RWP RSP VSV USP ndu upon his assuming office as the 42nd Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force at the main pavilion of “Rendezvous Ground”.

OPENING OF COLOUR CHAMBER - REGIMENTAL CENTRE THE GEMUNU WATCH

1st ,2nd (V) and 3rd (V) Battalions of the Gemunu Watch were awarded with the Presidents’ Colours and Regimental Colours for loyal and distinguished services rendered to the nation with the highest level of discipline, by His Excellency the Late JR Jayawardena, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and the President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka at the Public Ground in Galle on 15th August 1980.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING OF THE GEMUNU WATCH SEVA VANITHA BRANCH

The 2nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Gemunu Watch Seva Vanitha Branch was held at the Ranaviru Resources Centre - Wattala on Saturday 14th December 2019, presided by its President, Mrs. Hashmareen Bangsajayah.

The day’s proceedings got to a start with the lighting of the traditional oil lamp and observance of two-minute silence in memory of all fallen War Heroes before the start of the AGM as well as the annual financial statement was tabled before the gathering.

NEW CHAIRPERSON OF GEMUNU WATCH SEVA VANITHA BRANCH ASSUMED DUTIES

Mrs Hashmareen Bangsajayah assumed duties as the new President of the Gemunu Watch Seva Vanitha Branch at the Regimental Headquarters of the Gemunu Watch on 18 October 2019. On the arrival at Headquarters the new president was warmly welcomed by the senior members of the Seva Vanitha Branch. After assuming the duties, all members greeted the new chairperson with extending their warm wishes.

SRI PADA SEASON STARTED; THE GEMUNU TROOPS PARTICIPATED FOR RELIGIOUS CEREMONY AND PERAHERA FROM PALABADDALA TO SRI PADA

The Sri Pada pilgrimage season, annually from December to May was started on “Uduwap Full Moon Poya Day” with a religious ceremony held at the summit at Sri Pada Maluwa admonition of Sri Pada Chief Incumbent, Most Ven. Bengamuwe Sri Dammadinna Thero.
