OPENING OF COLOUR CHAMBER - REGIMENTAL CENTRE THE GEMUNU WATCH

1st ,2nd (V) and 3rd (V) Battalions of the Gemunu Watch were awarded with the Presidents’ Colours and Regimental Colours for loyal and distinguished services rendered to the nation with the highest level of discipline, by His Excellency the Late JR Jayawardena, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and the President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka at the Public Ground in Galle on 15th August 1980.

The colours were re-awarded to 1st ,2nd (V) and 3rd (V) Battalions of the Gemunu Watch and the Regimental Centre of the Gemunu Watch was awarded with the President Colours and Regimental Colours by His Excellency Mahinda Rajapaksha, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and the President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka at the Gemunu Watch Regimental Parade Ground in Kuruwita on 15thAugust 2012.

This Colour Chamber was constructed on the direction by Major General TS Bangsajayah RWP RSP VSV USP ndu Colonel of the Regiment the Gemunu Watch, Maj Gen KPA Jayasekera (retd) WWV RSP VSV USP ndc psc - Former Colonel of the Regiment of the Gemunu Watch and Maj Gen WHM Manatunga (retd). Further, this project was conducted under direct Supervision of Lieutenant Colonel AD Rodrigo RWP RSP psc. On the invitation of Brig AADNSP Dunuwila RWP RSP USP, Centre Commandant of the Regimental Centre of the Gemunu Watch the Colour chamber was declared open by Major General TS Bangsajayah RWP RSP VSV USP ndu Commander Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force, Commander Army Training Command and Colonel of the Regiment the Gemunu Watch on 26th June 2020 at the Regimental Centre of the Gemunu Watch.
