COMMANDANT SLAVF ADDRESSES COLONEL COORDINATING OFFICERS, COMMANDING OFFICERS AND NEWLY PROMOTED COLONELS AND LIEUTENANT COLONELS OF SRI LANKA ARMY VOLUNTEER FORCE

Headquarters Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force today (25 June) conducted a formal address for Colonel Coordinating Officers, Commanding Officers and recently promoted Colonels and Lieutenant Colonels of Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force presided by Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force Major General T S Bangsajayah RWP RSP VSV USP ndu upon his assuming office as the 42nd Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force at the main pavilion of “Rendezvous Ground”.

During his address, he underlined the significance of the appointments of the Colonel Coordinating Officer and Commanding Officer to the organization while explaining the aim of conducting the conference. Further, Commandant extended his warm wishes to the senior officers who were recently promoted to their substantive ranks of Colonels and Lieutenant Colonels. He explained how they can contribute their services to battalions and to the Headquarters of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force with much responsibility. Further, he briefly viewed on the future of Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force referring to the publication of “SLAVF beyond 2020”.

The opportunity has been created for Colonels Coordinating Officers and Commanding Officers to bring out the matters pertaining to Volunteer Battalions and their troops on administration and seeking for solutions through dialogues. Further discussions were held on matters pertaining to Officers, Other Ranks and other general matters between the Deputy Commandant along with the respective branch heads of the Headquarters and Colonels Coordinating Officers and Commanding Officers. Subsequently, all the Officers present witnessed the development process of the new HQ SLAVF premises.

Deputy Commandant Major General K P Nugegoda RWP RSP, Principal Staff Officer Brigadier K Liyanage RWP RSP ndu and other Senior Officers of SLAVF attended the occasion following the health directives issued for COVID 19.
