THIRD STAGE OF ESSENTIAL SCHOOL ITEMS DONATION PROGRAMME ORGANIZED BY THE GEMUNU WATCH SEVA VANITHA BRANCH ON 30 JANUARY 2022

With the concept of the incumbent President, Mrs. Geetha Chandrasiri and members of the Seva Vanitha Branch of the Gemunu watch conducted essential school items donation programme for 247 students who belong to military and civil families. Moreover, due to the Covid-19 pandemic situation this programme was planned conduct for few stages according to their living province. The third stage of the scheduled programme was organized by 5th battalion the Gemunu Watch and held at Green Paradise Hotel Wellavaya on 30th January 2022.

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Gemunu Watch Seva Vanitha Branch was held on 05th February 2022 at the Regimental centre the Gemunu Watch Paradise Auditorium hall under the patronage of the president of the Gemunu Watch Seva Vanitha branch Mrs Geeetha Chandrasiri. Further it was attended by the Seva Vanitha vice president Mrs Ruwani Lamahewa and the 80 members of Gemunu Watch Seva Vanitha Branch.

NEWLY APPOINTED DEPUTY CENTRE COMMANDANT ASSUMED THE OFFICE

A formal ceremony was taken place to mark the assuming of the office of newly appointed Deputy Centre Commandant-Regimental Headquarters the Gemunu Watch Lt Colonel S W P M H R Senadhera RWP USP psc on 19 January 2022 as the Deputy Centre Commandant.
The incoming Deputy Centre Commandant was welcomed by all the Officers and Other Rankers of the Regimental Headquarters the Gemunu Watch and assumed the office and took over the duties amid the religious observances.

THE GEMUNU WATCH SEVA VANITHA BRANCH ANNUAL BODHI PUJA PINKAMA

The annual Bodihi Pooja Pinkama was organized by the Gemunu Watch Seva Vanitha branch on the 15th January 2022 at the premises of the Regimental Headquarters the Gemunu Watch. The event was apprehended to memorialize the war heroes who laid their precious lives and made the supreme sacrifice and those who are missing in action whilst safeguarding the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the motherland.

SECOND STAGE OF ESSENTIAL SCHOOL ITEMS DONATION PROGRAMME ORGANIZED BY THE GEMUNU WATCH SEVA VANITHA BRANCH.

With the concept of the incumbent President, Mrs. Geetha Chandrasiri and members of the Seva Vantiha Branch of the Gemunu watch conducted essential school items donation programme for 247 students who belong to military and civil families. There were 79 solider families and concerned the families who are having three and above children. Moreover, due to the Covid-19 pandemic situation this programme was planned conduct for few stages according to their living province.

DONATION OF MEDICAL AID AND DRY RATION TO S/423340 CPL SOIZA DCK - 1GW

With the concept of the president of Gemunu Watch Seva Vanitha Branch Mrs. Geetha Chandrasiri and members of Seva Vanitha Branch Rs 60,000 medical aid and Rs 20,000 dry rations were donated to S/423340 Cpl Soiza DCK - 1GW on 03rd January 2022 at his house premises.

Mrs. Geetha Chandrasiri (President), Mrs. Ruwani Lamahewa (Vise President), Mrs. Thanuja Samarawickrama, Mrs. Dinuka Ganepola, Mrs. Mumtaz Hamidon, Mrs. Gayathri Mapalagama were present on the occasion.

ESSENTIAL SCHOOL ITEMS DONATION PROGRAMME ORGANIZED BY THE GEMUNU WATCH SEVA VANITHA BRANCH

With the concept of the incumbent President Mrs. Geetha Chandrasiri and members of Seva Vantiha Branch Essential School items donation programme conducted by Gemunu Watch Seva Vanitha Branch. This programme will be conducted for 247 students of 79 soldiers and civil workers, selected from all units according to 03 children and above families. Further because of COVID 19 situation plan to conduct this programme province wise.

BRIGADIER WBJK WIMALARATNE RWP RSP ASSUMED THE DUTIES AS THE 21ST CENTRE COMMANDANT OF REGIMENTAL CENTRE THE GEMUNU WATCH

Brigadier WBJK Wimalaratne RWP RSP assumed duties as the 21st Centre Commandant of the Regimental Centre the Gemunu Watch amidst military formalities accomplished at the Regimental Headquarters premises, Kuruwita on 24 December 2021.

The day’s proceedings in connection with the assumption of duties as the Centre Commandant began with reviewing of the Guard Turnout accorded in his honour. The Senior Officer was warmly received by Col AGSM Perera RWP RSP USP the Deputy Centre Commandant of the Regimental Centre the Gemunu Watch.

TROOPS BID FAREWELL MILITARY SALUTE TO OUTGOING CENTRE COMMANDANT

The Regiment Centre the Gemunu Watch organized a farewell ceremony for outgoing Centre Commandant Brigadier J M R N K Jayamanna RWP at the Regiment Centre on 19 December 2021.

Deputy Centre Commandant, Col A G S M Perera RWP RSP USP welcomed the outgoing Centre Commandant of the Regiment Centre, the Gemunu Watch and invited to review the guard turnout at the entrance and ceremonial commemoration for fallen war heroes at the monument were taken place to make the event more colourful and traditional.

FAREWELL CEREMONY FOR MAJOR GENERAL A P I FERNANDO RWP USP ACCORDED MILITARY SALUTE

The farewell ceremony for Major General A P I Fernando RWP USP, Former Director General General Staff (DGGS), and Colonel of the Regiment of the Mechanized Infantry was held at the Regiment Centre on 08th December 2021.The occasion of his retirement after completion over 35 years of successful service in Sri Lanka Army.
