With the concept of the incumbent President, Mrs. Geetha Chandrasiri and members of the Seva Vantiha Branch of the Gemunu watch conducted essential school items donation programme for 247 students who belong to military and civil families. There were 79 solider families and concerned the families who are having three and above children. Moreover, due to the Covid-19 pandemic situation this programme was planned conduct for few stages according to their living province. The second stage of the scheduled programme was held at this headquarters on 15 January 2022, selecting 97 students who belong to ‘Ranaviru families’.
The donation was donated by considering different educational levels including those who are learning in pre-school, Grade 1-2, Grade 3-5, Grade 6-9, Grade 10-11, and Grade 12-13. Moreover, the donation was coordinated by former members and members of the Gemunu Watch Seva Vanitha Branch. Further Rs 3000 x 12 months scholarship was donated to the daughter of S/403984 Sgt Chandrathilaka who laid his precious life to make the supreme sacrifice for the motherland. As well as Mrs. Bishani Fernando donated a Laptop to the Daughter of Civil worker AG Priyantha Upul Kumara and it was handed over to her on a particular day. The incumbent president of Gemunu Watch Seva Vanitha Branch Mrs. Geetha Chandrasiri graced the occasion as chief guest and vice president Mrs. Ruwani Lamahewa and 24 other members of the Gemunu Watch Seva Vanitha Branch have participated in this event.
