TROOPS BID FAREWELL MILITARY SALUTE TO OUTGOING CENTRE COMMANDANT

The Regiment Centre the Gemunu Watch organized a farewell ceremony for outgoing Centre Commandant Brigadier J M R N K Jayamanna RWP at the Regiment Centre on 19 December 2021.

Deputy Centre Commandant, Col A G S M Perera RWP RSP USP welcomed the outgoing Centre Commandant of the Regiment Centre, the Gemunu Watch and invited to review the guard turnout at the entrance and ceremonial commemoration for fallen war heroes at the monument were taken place to make the event more colourful and traditional.

Subsequently, outgoing Centre Commandant followed by an all Rank tea at the swimming pool area, Officers and Other Ranks of the Gemunu Watch were addressed by outgoing Centre Commandant. During the speech Commandant highly appreciated the contribution made by all officers and soldiers of the Regiment Centre in supporting him to work for the organization and also highlighted to importance of maintaining and expedition of all ongoing projects. Finally Centre Commandant thanked to all ranks for their generous assistance and support extended to him during his tenure.

Mementoes prepared by Warrant Officers’ and Sergeant Mess and Corporal’s Club were presented to the outgoing Center Commandant.

All officers and Other Ranks of the Regiment Centre extended their heartfelt gratitude to outgoing Highlander for his commitment and dedication to the Regiment Centre and wish him healthy, wealthy, peaceful and prosperous life and congratulated him to work in new appointment as Commandant of Army Training School- Ampara

Outgoing Center Commandant was accompanied to the lunch which was arrange at the Officer’s Mess. A special mementos was presented to the outgoing Center Commandant by Deputy Centre Commandant, Col A G S M Perera RWP RSP USP, Commanding Officer Regimental Headquarters Battalion and Commanding Officer 8th Battalion of the Gemunu Watch in appreciating of dedicated and committed services rendered to the Regiment as a Centre Commandant.
