  • Two More Senior Gunner Officers Promoted as Two Star Generals

    Two Senior Gunner Officers, elevated to the rank of Major General coinciding with Sri Lanka's 73rd National Independence Day had the privilege of receiving their new rank insignia from General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army during an audience, at the Commander's office at the Army Headquarters.

  • 5(V) SLA REACHED TO A SPECIAL MILESTONE

    5th Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery has a proud history of forty-one years. Initially, the Regiment was employed in inherent Artillery duties but later had to perform Infantry Role. Due to this, nearly 350 men were unable to attend the compulsory Artillery Post Depot Course. To rectify this long pending matter, Colonel Commandant directed the Commander Artillery Brigade to see the possibility of conducting courses at the premises of 5(V) SLA SEENAPURA. Effort taken by the Commander Artillery Brigade became a success and 5(V) SLA marked another historic milestone. They were given 3x122 mm Guns to start training. Commandant School of Artillery graced the Inauguration and opening address as the Chief Guest and commenced the training on 3rd March 2021.

    The Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery bid a farewell to Major General AS Hewawitharana RSP USP ndc IG, on 20 January 2021 at his retirement from the Regular Force of the Sri Lanka Army after serving more than 34 years and the Ceremony was held at Regimental Headquarters, Panagoda.

  • THE REGIMENT OF SRI LANKA ARTILLERY FELICITATED NEWLY PROMOTED MAJOR GENERALS

    The Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery presented military honours and warm greetings to the newly promoted Major Generals, Major General MP Lamahewa USP, Major General DMAP Dissanayake RWP RSP USP ndu IG and Major General MP Karunaratne IG, during a formal ceremony held on 19 January 2021 at the Regimental Headquarters, Panagoda.

  • Assuming of duties as the Centre Commandant- Regiment of Artillery

    Brigadier HGPM Kariyawasam RSP psc IG assumed duties as the 26th Centre Commandant of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery on 18th January 2021 at the Regimental Headquarters, Panagoda.

    Commander Artillery Brigade, Brigadier CS Munasinghe WWV RWP RSP USP psc IG paid a visit to 5(V) Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery on 09 January 2021.

  • GRADUATION OF LONG GUNNERY STAFF COURSE (OR) FD- 16

    Graduation Ceremony of the Long Gunnery Staff Course (LGSC) FD – 16, which commenced from 10 February 2020 to 08 January 2021, was held on 08 January 2021 at School of Artillery, Minneriya.

  • COLONEL COMMANDANT’S VISIT TO ARTILLERY COMPLEX – MINNERIYA

    The Commander, Security Forces – Kilinochchi and Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Artillery, Major General Sampath Kotuwegoda ndc IG paid his maiden visit to the Artillery Complex Minneriya on 22 and 23 November 2020 after assumed the duties.

  • THE PASSING OUT PARADE OF POST DEPOT COURSE FD 216/A

    The passing out parade of the Post Depot Course FD 216/A was held at 10 Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery, Vasavilan on 21 November 2020. A total of 56 gunners, belong to 8 SLA, 10 SLA and 14 SLA, joined the “Gunners Tribe” after successful completion of training. Colonel SASUKB Senanayaka, the Colonel General Staff - SFHQ (J) graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. S/166150 Gnr Sandaruwan WMP 14 SLA was awarded with the Best Gunner Trophy.
