  • Late Brigadier HF Rupasinghe (Rtd) VSV funeral held with full Military Honours

    The commemoration of the late Brig HF Rupasinghe (Rtd) VSV took place with full military honours on 15 May 2019 at General Cemetery, Mt. Lavinia.

    The cortege reached the cemetery entrance around 1630 hrs and was taken to the crematorium by gunners of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery. Part I Order issued by Commander of the Army according to military traditions were read out at the funeral before the coffin was placed in the crematorium amidst the Gun salute. Family members, relatives, past commanders, senior officers of tri services and a large crowd of mourners attended the funeral.

  • Brigadier M P Karunarathne IG assumed duties as the 20th Commander of the Artillery Brigade

    Brigadier MP Karunaratne IG assumed office as 20th Commander of the Artillery Brigade on 13 May 2019. Programme for assuming duties commenced with reviewing the Guard Turnout at the entrance to the Brigade Headquarters. The new Commander Artillery Brigade placed his signature in an official document to signify the acceptance of the new office.

    The Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery bid a farewell to Major General N D Wanniarachchi WWV RWP RSP USP ndc IG on 28 April 2019 at his retirement after serving more than 34 years in the Regular Force of the Sri Lanka Army and Ceremony was held at Regimental Headquarters, Panagoda.

    The Administration Inspection of Sri Lanka Artillery was conducted at the Artillery Regimental Centre, Panagoda on 27th May 2016 under the supervision of Major General MP Peiris RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc, the Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army, Director Generals and Directors of Army Headquarters.

    The Colonel Commandant of the Regiment of Artillery Major General PWB Jayasundara USP ndc psc IG welcome the Chief of Staff to the inspection.

  • Media Briefing of Gunner Supercross 2016

    Media briefing of Gunner Supercross 2016 was held on 10th June 2016 at the Crystal Ballroom, Taj Samudra Hotel, Colombo 03 at 1800 hrs with the participation of a large number of print and electronic media personnel and representatives of key sponsors for the event.

    The conference was presided by Major General Priyantha Jayasundara, the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Artillery . Major General Priyantha Jayasundara commenced with the introductory briefing whilst Mr Mahesh Gammanpila President of Sri Lanka Autosports Drivers Association (SLADA), Mr Kumar Samarasinghe Director Sales Singer Sri Lanka PLC, Mr Ravi Dadlani Vice President Sale and Marketing/Exports CEAT Kelani International Tyres (Pvt) Ltd and Mr Daminda Gamlath Head of beverages and Vice President John Keells Holdings addressing the gathering.
