    The Administration Inspection of Sri Lanka Artillery was conducted at the Artillery Regimental Centre, Panagoda on 27th May 2016 under the supervision of Major General MP Peiris RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc, the Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army, Director Generals and Directors of Army Headquarters.

    The Colonel Commandant of the Regiment of Artillery Major General PWB Jayasundara USP ndc psc IG welcome the Chief of Staff to the inspection.

  • Media Briefing of Gunner Supercross 2016

    Media briefing of Gunner Supercross 2016 was held on 10th June 2016 at the Crystal Ballroom, Taj Samudra Hotel, Colombo 03 at 1800 hrs with the participation of a large number of print and electronic media personnel and representatives of key sponsors for the event.

    The conference was presided by Major General Priyantha Jayasundara, the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Artillery . Major General Priyantha Jayasundara commenced with the introductory briefing whilst Mr Mahesh Gammanpila President of Sri Lanka Autosports Drivers Association (SLADA), Mr Kumar Samarasinghe Director Sales Singer Sri Lanka PLC, Mr Ravi Dadlani Vice President Sale and Marketing/Exports CEAT Kelani International Tyres (Pvt) Ltd and Mr Daminda Gamlath Head of beverages and Vice President John Keells Holdings addressing the gathering.

  • Commemoration of Late Major General Sumith Manawaduge

    Bana and almsgiving was organized in order to invoke blessing to late Major General Sumith Manawaduge, former Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Artillery, after completion of three months on his death on 6th and 7th August 2016. The event was attended by many serving and retired officers and other ranks of Sri Lanka Army and the Regiment of Artillery.

  • Visit of Pakistan Delegation to Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery

    A delegation comprised with a serving Brigadier, Brigadier Dr Saeed Ur Rehman Sarwar and a Director Marketing Global Industrial & Defence Solution (GIDS) Mr Asad Kamal arrived Sri Lanka on 25th July 2016, to lend their hands in all aspects to provide assistance required for strengthening our UAV regiment, over to their main intention of giveaway detailed briefing on GIDS productions and proposed UAVs to us. Discussions were held for two days from 26th July at the Regimental Centre Artillery. Colonel Commandant, Senior Council Members, Director Plans AHQ, Centre Commandant, Artillery Brigade Commander and the Commanding Officer and other Officers of 15th UAV regiment attended for the discussion from home side.

  • 11 SLA Celebrates 18 Years of Service to the Nation

    11 SLA celebrated its 18th anniversary with a series of ceremonies which culminated in the Regimental Day Parade accorded to the Commanding Officer on 31 July 2016 and All Ranks Lunch at Sittandy, Batticaloa. The celebrations commenced with honouring war heroes at the Artillery Monument at Panagoda on 20 July 2016. Religious activities commenced on with Bodhi Pooja at Sittandy and Islamic prayers was held at Jumma Mosque at Eravur on 23 July. A special Deva Pooja too was held at Minneriya Devalaya on the same day to invoke blessings on the Regiment and a Christian service was held at Church of Lady of Good Health at Kalkudah on 29 July 2016.

  • 9th Field Regiment won Artillery Inter Unit Volleyball Championship - 2016

    Sri Lanka Artillery Inter Unit Volleyball Championship 2016 concluded successfully at the Volleyball ground, Artillery Complex, Minneriya making 9th Field Regiment as the champion for this year.

    Major General Priyantha Jayasundara, Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Artillery graced the occasion as the chief guest where 10 regular units and 2 volunteer units vied for the championship in the tournament.
