The passing out parade of the Post Depot Course FD - 225 was successfully held on 02 December 2023 at School of Artillery, Minneriya. There were 99 well motivated soldiers joined the “Gunners Family” after successful completion of 03 months strenuous training. S/167782 Gnr Kumarasinghe ERHLP of 7 Light Regiment emerged as the “Best Gunner” and he was awarded with a replica of the “lewke Gun”.

Army Inter Regiment Combat Firing Meet - 2023 was held from 07 - 16 November 2023 at Firing Range - Diyatalawa. Artillery Team the bagged the Runner-Up trophy, scoring 2,041 points. The Colonel Commandant and all Ranks of the Regiment, congratulates all the team members and officials who have brought the glory to the Regiment.

The Vijaya 7s’ (හොකි නිජබිම සටන) Hockey Tournament –2023 was held on 14 and 15 October 2020 at the Vijaya College’s Hockey Grounds - Matale with a participation of 24 Hockey teams. Sri Lanka Artillery team won the “Plate” trophy, showing great enthusiasm and sportsmanship in the tournament.

16th Army Commander and 3rd Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Artillery, General L P Balagalle (Rtd) RWP RSP VSV USP ndc IG who had served the country for more than 39 years and earned admiration as an experienced Gunner in the Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery was laid on 28 October 2023 at Borella General Cemetery, amid a mammoth gathering of his military comrades, family members and mourners.
