Major General K A U Kodithuwakku RSP USP psc IG assumed duties as the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 11 Infantry Division on 06 August 2024 at the Division Headquarters in Pallekele, Kandy. The formal ceremony commenced with a review of the Guard Turnout, as an emblematic gesture of taking over the Command. Following that, Major General K A U Kodithuwakku RSP USP psc IG placed is signature on a formal document after a brief religious observance. The event also featured an all-ranks tea, attended by Brigade Commanders, Staff Officers of HQ 11 Division, and Commanding Officers.

Upon the initiative and guidance of Commander Security Forces (Central) and Colonel Commandant of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery Major General B K G M L Rodrigo RSP psc IG, the Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery organized a charity project by offering dinner (almsgiving) for the Children reside at Sanhida Pandukalasa Teaching Center (Children's Home) and Shramadana Campaign on 08 September 2024 in accordance with the celebration of 75 Anniversary of Sri Lanka Army.

In accordance with the training directive for the year 2024, the School of Artillery successfully commenced the second stage of Artillery deployment and live firing exercise at the Field Firing Range - Tempitiya, from 29 August to 04 September 2024. The artillery equipment fired included 120 mm mortars, 122 mm howitzers, 130 mm guns, 152 mm gun howitzers, and 122 mm (MBRL). Most remarkably, the 122 mm (MBRL) made its grand return, firing for the first time since 2009.

In a ceremonial transition, the incoming Commander officially assumed his responsibilities by signing an official document at an auspicious minute, symbolizing the commencement of his tenure as the 25th Commander Artillery Brigade.

Breaking a three-year cessation, the School of Artillery successfully recommenced the field firing of 152 mm gun howitzers, 122 mm howitzers, and 120 mm light mortars on 13th, 14th, and 15th May 2024, at the Artillery Field Firing Range, Tempitiya. The exercise included the participation from students of LGSC (OR) FD - 19, Gun Nos' 1 Course (Non-Tradesmen) - FD 392, TA Course - 480, OPO/OPA - 02, and TA Trade Test Course 2024/1. Senior Officers, Young Officers, and Other Ranks from all artillery units also attended the event. This exercise provided a golden opportunity for all gunners to gain live experience and enhance their gunnery knowledge at both Gun End duties and Observation Post.
