COLONEL COMMANDANT PAYS FIRST OFFICIAL VISIT TO 3(V) SLACAL

The Director General of Finance Management and Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock, Major General K D M L Samaradiwakara RWP RSP ndc psc, paid his first official visit to 3(V) Battalion, SLACAL, Kandakadu, on 10 January 2026.

Upon arrival, the Colonel Commandant was warmly welcomed by the Commanding Officer of 3(V) SLACAL, Major W T U Perera SLACAL. To mark the occasion, the Colonel Commandant planted a sapling within the camp premises. This was followed by a comprehensive briefing by the Commanding Officer on administrative matters, the current operational status of the battalion, and ongoing agricultural and livestock projects.

Subsequently, the Colonel Commandant inspected the camp area and posed for a group photograph to commemorate the visit.

Thereafter, the Colonel Commandant addressed the troops, sharing his views on the current challenges faced by soldiers and providing guidance on overcoming these issues. The Colonel Commandant later visited Army Farms at Kandakadu and Galkanda, where he inspected several ongoing projects, including the MRE project, milk processing project, cattle and goat sheds, rice mill, mango cultivation projects, paddy fields, and the layer project.

The visit concluded with an officers’ interaction session held at the 3(V) SLACAL Officers’ Mess.
