SRI LANKA ARMY CORPS OF AGRICULTURE AND LIVESTOCK PROUDLY CELEBRATED ITS 5TH ANNIVERSARY

Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock proudly marked its 5th anniversary on 04 January 2026 at the Regimental Centre SLACAL, Karandaniya, a series of commemorative and celebratory events were organized to honor this important milestone in the history of the Regiment.

The anniversary celebrations began with an all-night Pirith chanting was held to bless all the Officers and Other Ranks on 02 January 2026 and the following day, a heal alms were offered to the Maha Sangha in which arms were offered to 12 monks on 03 January 2026 at the Regimental Centre Officers Mess in the presence of Director General Finance Management and the Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock, Major General K D M L Samaradiwakara RWP RSP ndc psc, Brigadier S M C A S Samarathunga RSP, Centre Commandant with all Officers and Other Rankers.

In association with the anniversary festivities, Sri Lanka Army corps of Agriculture and Livestock Seva Vanitha Branch held Relief Programme for Flood Victims with another donation programme on 03 January 2026 at the Regimental Centre, strengthening support for affected families under the guidance of Mrs. Nilangani Samaradiwakara, the President of the Seva Vanitha Branch.

Marking the commencement of the 5th Regimental day celebration on 04 January 2026, the Director General Finance Management and the Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock, Major General K D M L Samaradiwakara RWP RSP ndc psc was warmly received by the Centre Commandant, Brigadier S M C A S Samarathunga RSP, and presented with a guard turnout at the main entrance of the Regimental Centre and followed by a ceremonial parade at the Regimental Centre Parade Ground.

Following the parade, the proceeding continued with a group photograph with the Chief Guest, Members of the Regimental Council with all officers and Regimental Sargent Major with all Senior NCOs symbolizing unity, pride, and esprit Cooperation among all ranks of the Regiment.

The 5th Anniversary celebrations concluded with an All Rank Lunch and a musical programme, graced by the Colonel Commandant, Centre Commandant, and representatives from all SLACAL battalions and School of Agriculture and Livestock signifying an appropriate conclusion to the anniversary amidst a setting of pride, unity, and reflection.
