NEWLY CONSTRUCTED HOUSE VESTED TO AN AGRARIAN IN KULIYAPITIYA

The Seva Vanitha Branch of Agriculture and Livestock in a spectrum to broadening their welfare role, constructed a fully fledged house for a needy agrarian belonging to 2 (V) Bn SLACAL under the instructions of Major General S A Kulatunge RWP RSP VSV USP psc, Commander - Security Forces (East) and the Colonel Commandant of SLACAL.

The President of the SLACAL SVB Mrs.Varuni Kulatunge together with a few donors persisted on completing this welfare project to commensurate with the 75th anniversary of the Sri Lanka Army. Mrs.Janaki Liyanage,President ASVU, graced the house warming ceremony as chief guest on the invitation of Mrs.Varuni Kulatunge.

The beautifully completed house was vested to S/W 01012 Cpl Ranathunge RAMS on 22 October 2024 at his village in Kuliyapitiya.

Further, this event was historical as it was the first house built by the Corp of Agricultre & Livestock. The presence of the Army SVB President Mrs. Janaki Liyanage during the handing over amidst religious observances, added valuable significance to the occasion.

Major General Shewanth Kulatunge together with Mrs.Varuni Kulatunge, Council members, Centre Commandant, members of the Seva Vanitha branch and officers of SLACAL were present at the event.

The construction took place under the supervision of the Commanding Officer of the 2 (V) Bn SLACAL Lt Col Rasika Kumara with the support of RHQ SLACAL. Construction of the house commenced on 26 June '24.

Further, SVB SLACAL donated gift packs and all the necessary wall paint to further support the cause.
