DONATION OF ESSENTIAL ITEMS FOR PREGNANT MOTHERS BY THE SRI LANKA ARMY CORPS OF AGRICULTURE AND LIVESTOCK

On an initiative of Mrs.Varuni Kulatunge, the president of the SLACAL Seva Vanitha Branch along with it's senior members, organized a timely charitable project for 32 expecting mothers in the regiment. The spouses were selected from amongst

OR's and junior officers of SLACAL. The event took place on 28th September 2024 at 1 SLACAL, Nochchiyagama

Each gift pack contained essential items worth Rs.20,000.00 for the new born infant & mother. Further, all receiptians were served morning tea and a nutritional meal for the afternoon.

An apt and concise lecturer was delivered by Dr.Kapila Disanayaka, Medical Officer of Health - Nochchiyagama, shedding light on many useful facts for the new parents on "Post - natal care" of mother & baby

Major General SA Kulatunge RWP RSP VSV USP, Commander - Security Forces (East), and the Colonel Commandant of SLACAL graced the occasion as chief guest. The Director - Dte of A&L, Centre Commandant, along with Senior Officers, Officers & SVB members attended, highlighting the significance of this milestone donation programme of SLACAL.

The event was organized under the patronage of the CO 1 SLACAL" Lt Col Malaka Rathnayake and his spouse.
