4th Anniversary Celebration of the Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock

The 4th Anniversary of the Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock was celebrated with great pomp and formality at the Regimental Centre Karandeniya on 04.01.2025. In conjunction with the anniversary, a gorgeous procession with cultural elements was held amidst colourful lights and an all-night Pirith chanting was held to bless all the officers and other ranks on 02.01.2025 and the following day, a heal alms were offered to the Maha Sangha.

Marking the commencement of the 4th Regimental day celebration, the Director General General Staff and the Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock, Major General U K D D P Udugama RWP RSP USP ndc psc was presented with a guard turnout at the main entrance of the Regimental Centre and followed by a ceremonial parade at the Regimental Centre Parade Ground.

Furthermore, During the troops address he emphasize gratitude towards all the previous Colonel Commandants, Centre Commandants, All Officers and other ranks for the progress achieved within a short period of time since its established and also wished, the regiment would be given the necessary strength and courage to carry out all the challenges and duties assigned to it in a superior manner in the future.

Moreover, first ever in the history of 4 years of SLACAL the Colonel Commandant challenging trophies were awarded to the best performing drill teams in the Inter-Battalion Drill Competition. Later followed the planting a sapling in front of the regimental officers’ mess, group photograph taken with all the officers who were presented and the all ranks lunch was held in conjunction with Regimental Day. Finally, in the evening, a musical show was held to provide entertainment to all ranks of Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock.
