Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers bid a heartfelt and respectful farewell to Major General K A N Rasika Kumara ndc psc with military honours and greetings on 18 January 2026 at the Regimental Centre SLE, marking the conclusion of his distinguished military service spanning over 35 years in the Sri Lanka Army.
The day's proceedings commenced with a Guard Turnout and a vibrant Guard of Honour at the Regimental Parade Ground, followed by inviting the retiring Senior Officer with his family to the Office by the Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, Major General D K S K Dolage USP nps psc.
In line with farewell formalities, a convivial tea party was arranged at the Regimental Officers' Mess, with participation of Senior Officers and Officers of the Corps.
The evening was highlighted by a farewell Dinner Night, graced by large gathering of Sapper Officers and their spouses, was hosted in honour of the retiring Senior Officer. During farewell dinner, the Colonel Commandant, delivered the farewell note, acknowledging Major General Rasika Kumara’s exceptional service. Major General Rasika Kumara, in response, extended his appreciation to the Colonel Commandant, all ranks of the Corps and all members of the SLE Seva Vanitha Branch for their unwavering support and camaraderie extended throughout his tour of duty in the Sri Lanka Army.
