On 23 November 2024, the Seva Vanitha Branch of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers organized a heartwarming book donation program at the Regimental Centre in Panagoda under the guidance of the SVB President, Mrs. Lilanthi Dolage. The initiative supported 78 children of serving soldiers, providing them with essential educational materials.
This meaningful event was made possible through the generous contributions of Mr. A.P. Jayarajah, CEO of Nithyakalyani Jewellery, representatives of the Rotary Club of Colombo East, as well as donors Mrs. Minoli Fernando, Mrs. Ayanthi Karunarathna, and SVB member Mrs. Dilupa Warahena, whose collective support greatly strengthened the programme.
Each child received an educational gift pack containing essential books and stationary to assist in their academic progress. The event also fostered unity and encouragement among military families.
The program was graced by the presence of Major General S. Ranasinghe (Retd) RWP RSP ndu psc, former Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, Mrs. Iromi Ranasinghe, former President of SLE Seva Vanitha Branch and members of the Seva Vanitha Branch, contributing to the success of this significant welfare initiative.
