SRI LANKA ARMY ENGINEER DIVISION CELEBRATES 5TH ANNIVERSARY

The Sri Lanka Army Engineer Division officialy established on 18th November 2020 and celebrated its 5th Anniversary on 21th November 2025. Brigadier HKP Karunathilaka RSP,Overlooking General Officer Commanding, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and being warmly welcomed by Colonel NKBS Jayasekara,Col GS Engineer Division.

The programme included several key events such as troops address, a group photograph , All Ranks tea party and All Ranks get-together. During his address, the GOC emphasized the national concept of a “Clean Sri Lanka,” highlighting the responsibility of every soldier in maintaining discipline, cleanliness and environmental care. He also raised awareness on the harmful effects of online gambling, stressing the importance of staying alert and protecting one’s wellbeing and career. Further, he instructed troops on effective management of soldiers’ salaries to ensure financial stability. Brigadier Punya Karunathilaka also spoke about the ongoing tasks of the Engineer Division and praised the contributions made by Officers and Other Ranks toward its progress. He concluded by extending his appreciation to all former GOCs, all officers and ORS as well as present Officers and ORs, for their dedication in bringing the Sri Lanka Army Engineer Division to its present level of excellence.

The programme concluded with the All Ranks get - together ,which aimed to enhance unity,strengthen morale and build comaraderie amoung all personnel of the Engineer Division.The gathering provided a relaxed atmosphere for Officers and Soldiers to celebrate their achievements, reinforce teamwork and reflects on the Division’s progress as it completed five years of service.The evening was filled with moments of laughter ,music and heartfelt camaraderie.The occasion not only reflected the Division’s glorious past but also its continued commitment to excellence , unity and service to the nation.
