The 14 Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear and Explosive Response Regiment showcased its preparedness response capabilities and technical expertise at the Skills Expo 2025 and Techno 2025 exhibitions held on 10th and 11th October 2025 at the Temple Trees Convention Centre Colombo.
The exhibitions organized to promote training opportunities technical education and employability avenues among the public provided a valuable platform for the Regiment to demonstrate its specialized role in safeguarding the nation from CBRNE-related threats and emergencies.
Under the direction of the Commander of the Army and in accordance with the instructions of the Chief Field Engineer and the Commander Engineer Division the Regiment’s participation was conducted under the supervision of the Commanding Officer 14 CBRNE Response Regiment. The Regiment’s exhibit drew significant public attention particularly from students professionals and technical enthusiasts who were keen to learn about the Army’s contributions to national safety and resilience through science and technology.
The Regiment’s display featured a wide range of CBRNE detection decontamination and response equipment all mounted on a specially modified vehicle capable of transporting CBRN operators to the warm zone of an incident as a reconnaissance element. This setup effectively demonstrated the Regiment’s operational readiness and mobility in responding to CBRNE emergencies. Visitors were also briefed on how Sri Lanka Army CBRNE specialists are rigorously trained to detect contain and neutralize chemical biological radiological nuclear and explosive threats with precision and professionalism.
In addition to showcasing operational capabilities the exhibition also emphasized training and career development opportunities within the Sri Lanka Army particularly in technical and engineering fields. The initiative successfully inspired many young visitors to explore future career paths in national defence disaster management and scientific disciplines.
