“මාතෘ අභිමන” PROGRAMME BY 8 FIELD ENGINEER REGIMENT

The 8 Field Engineer Regiment successfully organized the “මාතෘ අභිමන” Seva Vanitha Community Support and Development Programme in collaboration with Forever Skin Natural (Pvt) Ltd, as a Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers Seva Vanitha Branch initiative on 8 October 2025 at Boo Oya, Vavuniya. This was conducted parallel to the 29th Anniversary of unit, under the leadership of Lt Col Asanka Hidallaarachchi, Commanding Officer of 8 SLE.

The programme was dedicated to supporting 150 pregnant mothers from nearby communities by enhancing their awareness and knowledge on physical and psychological well-being.

The event was graced by the Chief Guest, Miss Chandani Bandara, Chairperson and Founder of Chandani Bandara Group of Companies. Miss Nadeeshani Hidallaarachchi and Miss Nayomi Fernando attended the event representing the Corps of Engineers Seva Vanitha Branch. Informative lectures on maternal health were conducted with the active contribution of the MOH Office, Madawachchiya.All attendees received maternity gift packs and were served a healthy breakfast and lunch followed by a joyful musical session.

The “මාතෘ අභිමන” programme stands as a shining reflection of the Corps of Engineers Seva Vanitha Branch’s continued dedication to community development, compassion, and service — marking yet another proud milestone.
