VISIT OF COMMANDER 1 CORPS MAJOR GENERAL WMPM WIJESOORIYA RWP RSP ndu TO 9 FIELD ENGINEER REGIMENT ON 30 MARCH 2025

Major General WMPM Wijesooriya RWP RSP ndu, the Commander 1 Corps, accompanied by the Brigadier Admin and Quartering and Col General Staff, paid an official visit to the 9th Field Engineer Regiment on 30 March 2025.

Upon arrival, the Commander 1 Corps, Brigadier Admin and Quartering and Col General Staff were warmly welcomed by Lt Col B D J Rangajeewa USP psc SLE, the Commanding Officer 9th Field Engineer Regiment. The Drive pass accorded to the Commander 1 Corps.

The visit encompassed key areas of the camp, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the unit's capabilities and living conditions.

The day commenced with a Commanding Officer’s briefing, where Commander 1 Corps was apprised of the unit’s operational status, ongoing initiatives, and future objectives. The briefing set the tone for an insightful tour of essential facilities. Following the briefing, he proceeded to the armory and dump stores, inspecting the security, maintenance, and readiness of equipment. This was followed by a visit to the OR's accommodations, where interactions with personnel provided valuable feedback on living conditions and morale.

Further emphasizing welfare and logistics, he inspected the ration stores and kitchen, ensuring that provisions met the required standards of quality and efficiency. The visit continued with an inspection of the Sappers' Mess and the Cpls' Club. The visit concluded with encouraging remarks from Corps Commander commending the dedication and discipline of the personnel while providing guidance for continued excellence.

Finally, the Commander 1 Corps left his remarks in the Visitors’ Book at the Officers’ Mess 9 Field Engineer Regiment.
