The Sri Lanka Army Engineer Division organized a dignified farewell ceremony on Monday, 10 February 2025 to honour the retirement of Major General S P G Gamage RWP RSP USP, marking the conclusion of his 34 years plus of illustrious and distinguished military career.
The ceremony commenced with a Guard Turnout, followed by a Guard of Honour, symbolizing the deep respect and appreciation of Engineer Division for the dedicated service of Major General Pradeep Gamage. Upon arrival, he was ceremonially welcomed by Colonel AQ of the Engineer Division, Colonel Bandula Jayasekara.
During a subsequent address to troops, Major General Pradeep Gamage shared insights from his career, expressed his gratitude for the camaraderie and dedication of the troops and offered words of encouragement for their continued service. In recognition of his exemplary leadership and commitment, a memento was presented to outgoing Senior Officer, on behalf of all ranks of the Engineer Division.
In line with the programme, an All-Ranks tea was hosted, providing an opportunity for personnel to interact and extend their best wishes. A group photograph was then taken with the Division Staff and all participating Officers, capturing the memorable occasion.
The event concluded marking the final official gesture of appreciation and respect for exceptional service of Major General Pradeep Gamage. The ceremony was a fitting tribute to Major General S P G Gamage RWP RSP USP, honouring his remarkable dedication to the Sri Lanka Army and the Engineer Division with the highest regard and admiration.
