Under the visionary guidance of Major General Lanka Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc, Commander Security Forces (West) and Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, and Mrs. Surangi Amarapala, President of the SLE Seva Vanitha Branch, another inspiring book donation programme was unfolded on 17th December at the 6 Field Engineer Regiment in Pallekele. This impactful initiative sought to unlock brighter futures for 25 children of soldiers, strengthening educational opportunities and fostering unity within military families.
The educational gift packs, thoughtfully assembled, by selecting a collection of books and essential learning materials. Designed to spark a passion for knowledge, these resources equip the minds of children, with the tools to excel academically while fostering a love for lifelong learning.
The event was brought to life through the invaluable support of Mr. Kolitha Wickremasinghe, Managing Director of SALOTA International (Pvt) Ltd, and his committed team. Their generosity and dedication underscored a deep-seated commitment to empowering military families and nurturing the next generation.
The programme was attended by Colonel M D J Wickramaarachchi USP psc ptsc, Deputy Centre Commandant, Lieutenant Colonel M A K R K Abeywickramasinghe RWP RSP psc SLE, the Commanding Officer of 6 Field Engineer Regiment, Mrs Irosha Abeywickramasinghe who is a member of SLE Seva Vanitha Branch, and other Officers of 6 Field Engineer Regiment.
This heartfelt initiative once again highlights the unwavering dedication of the SLE Seva Vanitha Branch to uplifting military families, empowering children through education, and fostering a stronger, brighter community.
