MAIDEN VISIT OF THE GENERAL OFFICER COMMANDING OF THE ENGINEER DIVISION TO 4 (V) ENGINEER REGIMENT

The General Officer Commanding of the Engineer Division Major General S P G Gamage RWP RSP USP, conducted his inaugural formal visit to the 4 (V) Engineer Regiment on 13 December 2024, at the invitation of the Commanding Officer Major H P U Dasanayake USP SLE. The visiting General Officer Commanding was warmly welcomed upon the arrival by the Commanding Officer.

As part of the official programme, General Officer Commanding addressed the officers and other ranks of the unit, reflecting on the legacy of their forebears whose invaluable contributions in construction, sports, and various other domains exemplify expertise and professionalism. He lauded the unit's remarkable dedication to nation-building tasks and commended their continued excellence in Army construction projects.

Following his address, the General Officer Commanding engaged in an informal all-ranks tea session, fostering interaction between officers, senior non-commissioned officers, non-commissioned officers, and militarized troops where allowing to share their thoughts.

The visit concluded with a comprehensive briefing by the Commanding Officer, covering the unit's history, key projects, operational commitments, training programmes, and administrative matters. The General Officer Commanding also inspected the camp premises, appreciating the regiment's discipline and preparedness.
