7 FIELD ENGINEER REGIMENT SLE PROUDLY CELEBRATES ITS 31st ANNIVERSARY

7 Field Engineer Regiment proudly celebrated its 31st anniversary with a series of vibrant events at its camp in Batu-oya, Minneriya. The celebrations, held from 11 December to 15 December 2024, embodied the unit's pride, camaraderie, and dedication while honoring its rich history and traditions.

The pinnacle of the celebrations unfolded on 11 December 2024, when a series of military formalities and traditions took place, underscoring the regiment's discipline and esprit de corps. The day began with the Commanding Officer, Major WMAB Warnasooriya USP psc SLE, being honored with a Guard Turnout at the main entrance and showcasing more significance to the occasion, the Commanding Officer addressed the troops, inspiring and motivating all ranks. A symbolic tree-planting ceremony was also conducted, emphasizing the regiment's commitment to environmental stewardship. The momentous day was captured in a unit photograph, preserving memories of the celebration.

The camaraderie and unity among all ranks were further highlighted during the all ranks tea, where officers and soldiers shared a delicious tea, fostering a strong sense of fellowship.

Inter squadrons cricket tournament was a glamorous event within the 31st anniversary events, where team work and sheer commitment of the officers and other ranks were significantly highlighted. 74 Plant Squadron as the Champions of the tournament shown their dedication to the sports by achieving championship after 5 years where champion monopoly was held with 70 headquarter squadron.

The commemorative activities commenced with a Bhodhi Puja on 13 December, where blessings were sought for the regiment's continued success and unity. The spiritual proceedings continued with a Ganapathi Kovil puja at unit kovil premises followed by a puja at Minneriya mahasen maha dewalaya on 14 December, fostering a sense of gratitude and reflection among all ranks.

The celebrations culminated in a lively musical night, bringing together officers, other ranks, and civilian employees in an evening filled with joy and entertainment. The event, organized with great enthusiasm, served to rejuvenate the spirits of the soldiers and acknowledge their unwavering commitment to the regiment.

The successful conclusion of this milestone event highlighted the regiment's strong traditions and its readiness to face future challenges with unwavering commitment.
