VISIT OF THE GENERAL OFFICER COMMANDING ENGINEER DIVISION TO 7 FIELD ENGINEER REGIMENT

Major General S P G Gamage RWP RSP USP, General Officer Commanding of Engineer Division, paid an official visit to the 7 Field Engineer Regiment, Minneriya on 10 January 2025.

Upon arrival, the General Officer Commanding was warmly welcomed by the Commanding Officer of 7 Field Engineer Regiment, Major W M A B Warnasooriya USP psc SLE and honored with a ceremonial Guard Turnout at the main entrance.

During the visit, General Officer Commanding addressed the troops, where he highlighted the importance of balancing military and personal life, managing finances amidst the current economic challenges, and maintaining discipline. He also emphasized the need to engage soldiers in diverse fields of work.

To commemorate visit, the General Officer Commanding planted a mango sapling and later participated in a tea with all ranks.

Finally, the Commanding Officer and other respective Officers conducted a comprehensive briefing to the visiting Senior Officer about role and tasks, organizational structure, strength, administration and logistic of the regiment.
