Awarding Ceremony of Inter Unit Drill Competition 2025 was held on 09 November 2025 at the Regimental Centre SLE in line with the 74th Anniversary celebration of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, with its signature grandeur, reaffirming its status as one of the most prestigious and eagerly anticipated events on the Corps’ annual calendar. Renowned for its impeccable standards, precision, and competitive fervour, this esteemed competition serves as a stage for the finest soldiers to exhibit their discipline, and drill excellence.
The climax of the event unfolded as trophies and certificates were awarded to the Best Drill Platoon, Runners-Up Platoon, Best Platoon Commander, and Best Drill Instructor by Major General D K S K Dolage USP nps psc, Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, recognizing the outstanding performances of the competition's top contenders. All Engineer Units competed rigorously, and after a thorough analysis of marks by an independent panel of judges, the best results were finalized as follows:
• Best Drill Platoon – 9 Field Engineer Regiment
• Runners-Up Platoon – 4(V) Engineer Regiment SLE
Additionally, the competition recognized the exceptional performances of the following individuals:
• Best Platoon Commander – Lieutenant L R S Somasena SLE of 4(V) Engineer Regiment SLE
• Best Drill Instructor – S/242724 Staff Sergeant Bandara R M M of 6 Field Engineer Regiment
The Inter Unit Drill Competition 2025, once again proved to be a magnificent display of military precision, unwavering discipline, and regimental pride. It further solidified the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers' enduring legacy of excellence, professionalism, and dedication to perfection.
