Essential school items, and financial donation Programme was successfully conducted on 05 January 2026 at the 11 Field Engineer Regiment, with the collective support of all officers and other ranks of the unit, to assist soldiers of 11 Field Engineer Regiment who were affected by recent Ditwah Cyclone.
Accordingly, a total of 09 soldiers were provided with financial donations and a total of 09 soldiers were provided with essential school items, including books, school bags, stationeries and gift vouchers, enabling them to uplift their lifestyle and their children’s education without interruption.
In addition, essential school items were donated to the 10 soldiers’ children who successfully passed the Scholarship Examination in the years of 2024 and 2025, in recognition of their commendable academic achievements.
The event was conducted under the concept and the guidance of the Commanding Officer, 11 Field Engineer Regiment, Lieutenant Colonel D M R C Dunusinghe psc SLE, with the generous financial support of all officers and other ranks of the unit. This initiative highlighted the continuous commitment of the 11 Field Engineer Regiment towards the welfare and well-being of troops and their families.
Finally, the programme concluded with the distribution of dry ration parcels provided by the Army Seva Vanitha, for the soldiers who were affected by the Ditwah Cyclone.
