A CELEBRATION OF SERVICE, UNITY, AND TRADITION: 73RD ANNIVERSARY OF THE CORPS OF SRI LANKA ENGINEERS

The Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers marked its 73rd anniversary on November 9, with a series of meaningful ceremonies that honored its legacy of service, unity, and tradition. Among the various commemorations, the anniversary cake-cutting and all-ranks lunch stood out as profound symbols of the continuous bond shared among members of this esteemed Corps, reflecting the values that have defined this institution since its inception.

The traditional cake-cutting ceremony brought together senior officers, officers, other ranks, and civil servants in a shared moment of reflection and pride. The cake-cutting ceremony underscored the Corps' unity and resilience, celebrating not only the passage of time but also the Corps' collective commitment to its enduring principles of honor, teamwork, and camaraderie. This tradition serves as a reminder of the unbroken lineage of dedication upheld by the Corps, bridging the past with the future.

Following the cake-cutting, the Corps hosted an all-ranks lunch at the Regimental Centre. Major General Lanka Amarapala, RWP RSP ndc psc, Commander Security Forces (West) and Colonel Commandant of the Corps, attended the event, adding to its significance. This inclusive gathering allowed officers, other ranks, and civil servants to come together for a shared meal, embodying the Corps' spirit of unity and respect across all ranks. The lunch fostered an atmosphere of fellowship, with individuals from various levels of service mingling freely, strengthening the bonds that hold the Corps together.
