Under the inspiring guidance of Major General Lanka Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc, the Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, and Mrs. Surangi Amarapala, the President of the SLE Seva Vanitha Branch, embarked on another remarkable chapter of the book donation initiative on 11th January 2025, held at the Regimental Centre, Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, aiming to enrich the educational journeys of children from military families, ensuring a brighter future for the next generation.
A meticulously curated collection of educational packs, included books and essential learning materials, were presented to the children of soldiers and a civil servant. These resources aim to inspire a passion for knowledge, equipping children with the academic aids needed to excel and fostering on commitment to education. This noble initiative extended its support to 19 children of Corps’ members, including those with more than two school children and even some with as many as four. The programme stands as a testament to the unwavering dedication of the SLE Seva Vanitha Branch to supporting the educational aspirations of its extended military families.
