The 36th anniversary celebration of 6 Field Engineer Regiment was held on 29th and 30th of December 2025, showcasing glamour and pride in a significant scale. As the first event marking the anniversary celebration, a Shramadhana campaign was successfully conducted at Provincial Ayurveda Hospital Pallekale on 26 December 2025.
On 29 December 2025, a Pirith Chanting was held within the camp premises to blessing to the persons who supreme sacrificed their life in war period and everyone belongs to 6 SLE. On 30December 2025, anniversary day proceedings commenced with a Guard Turnout for theCommanding Officer, Lieutenant Colonel B L G T P Subasinghe RSP USP psc SLE, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. He was warmly welcomed by the Second in Command, Major W D A S Wijekoon psc SLE.
To mark the occasion, Commanding Officer planted a Mango Tree “Mangifera Indica sapling” withinthe regimental premises, symbolizing growth and continuity. During the troop address, the Commanding Officer expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all officers and other ranks for their unwavering dedication and determined efforts in maintaining the high standards of the regiment.
He especially highlighted the outstanding contributions made by the sappers during the Disaster Relief Operation. Finally, the anniversary day programme concluded with an all rank lunch for further strengthening unit bonds.
