11 FIELD ENGINEER REGIMENT SLE PROUDLY CELEBRATES ITS 17TH ANNIVERSARY

On 15 May 2025, the 11 Field Engineer Regiment of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers proudly marked its 17th anniversary. The commemorative activities, conducted from 01st to 06th June 2025, honored the unit’s distinguished history and traditions, reflecting its pride, commitment, and unity. The entire celebration was organized under the leadership and guidance of the Commanding Officer, Major DMRC Dunusinghe psc SLE.

The festivities commenced on 01st June with Inter-Squadron Cricket and Volleyball tournaments, promoting sportsmanship and camaraderie among the troops.

On 04th June, following military formalities including a Guard Turnout at the main entrance in recognition of the Commanding Officer’s role, the anniversary celebration culminated with a ceremonial battalion parade. This showcased the regiment’s discipline and cohesion. A symbolic tree planting by the Commanding Officer further enriched the day’s significance.

During his address to the troops, the Commanding Officer delivered an inspiring message aimed at motivating all ranks. Trophies were awarded to the winning teams of the cricket and volleyball tournaments in recognition of their achievements.

To commemorate the occasion, Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks gathered for a group photograph. A traditional all ranks lunch further strengthened the bonds of fellowship among all personnel, highlighting the unity and mutual respect that define the regiment.

The anniversary celebrations concluded on 06th June with a vibrant musical performance held on a grand scale, serving as a tribute to the soldiers’ unwavering dedication and offering them a joyful break from their routine duties.
