1 Field Engineer Regiment proudly marked its 74th anniversary, marking yet another milestone by showcasing glamour and pride in a grand scale. Series of military formalities were organized reflecting the Regiment’s rich traditions, unity and enduring spirit.
The celebrations began with the Inter-Squadron sports competitions of Cricket, Volleyball and Tug of War which added further enthusiasm and teamwork among Officers and Other Ranks, fostering to build unity and strong bond within the Regiment.
On 29 September 2025, a Dharma Deshana was held at Bodhirajaramaya – remembering the fallen war heroes, invoking blessings for the Regiment’s continued success, the wellbeing of its War Veterans and serving soldiers.
In keeping with highest military traditions, on 01 October 2025 the Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel D W G I D Somakeerthi USP psc SLE, was accorded a Guard Turnout at the main entrance, followed by a Ceremonial Parade at the Regimental Headquarters showcasing the prestige of the Regiment. Moreover, All Ranks Lunch was lined up with the schedule.
Adding more colours to the celebration, a vibrant musical night was held on 03 October 2025 with the aim of reducing monotony of soldiers and as an appreciation for their commitment towards the unit in every aspect. Event was conducted with the participation of all Officers, Other Ranks and civilian staff.
A Get Together at the Warrant Officers’ and Sergeants’ Mess also conducted on 04 October 2025. The total program maintained the elegance, fellowship and formal military decorum that define the proud legacy of the 1 Field Engineer Regiment.
