Anti Rabies Vaccination programme was organized at the Army Cantonment,Panagoda on the direction of the Commander Security Force (West) Major General Sathyappriya Liyanage. Under the guidance of the Brigadier General Staff of SF HQ (West) Brig J Thanthiriwatta RWP, first stage of the progamme was held at RHQ SLE on 17 September 2018.

A programme organized by the tri services to coincide with the national coastal and marine resources conservation week and coastal clean-up programme got under way at Dadalla beach front on Sunday (16) organized by the 58 Division Headquarters of the Security Force Headquarters - West. The event was attended by the HE the President Maithripala Sirisena with several minsters and chief minister for southern province.

Troops of the 1 Sri Lanka Armoured Corps (SLAC), 8 Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) and 2 Sri Lanka Army Service Corps of the Security Force Headquarters - West (SFHQ-West) on the directions of the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake and the Commander, Security Forces - West (SF-West) Major General Sathyapriya Liyanage rushed to the coastal belt around Muthurajawela, North of Colombo and assisted the clearance of an oil patch floating in the seas this afternoon (9).

An English course was started for the Other Ranks who were serving in the 58 Division under command to the Security Force Headquarters – West, with the aim of enhancing their writing, reading and speaking ability. The course commenced on 04 June and terminated on Wednesday (5) September at Headquarters 3 Gemunu Watch at Matara.

Two Officers and 35 Other Ranks of the 14 Division and 11 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) under command to the Security Force Headquarters - West (SFHQ-West) rushed to assist control of a sudden fire that erupted in a building under construction at Braybrooke Place, Colombo 2 this afternoon (7).
