School Supplies Donation for 150 Underprivileged Students

A school supplies donation program benefiting 150 underprivileged students from A/Nabadewa Vidyalaya and A/Puliyankadawala Primary School, located in the Horowpothana Divisional Secretariat area under the 21 Infantry Division, was held on 26 September 2025 at A/Nabadewa Vidyalaya. The event was organized under the Clean Sri Lanka initiative and was fully sponsored by Mr. D. P. S. S. Rajapaksha, proprietor of SSR Vehicle Sales, Mirigama.

Each student received a school supplies pack valued at approximately Rs. 13,000 which included shoes, a school bag, and an umbrella. Additionally, lunch was provided for nearly 700 students, parents, and teachers. A special Mapiya Vandana religious program was also conducted by Venerable Massanne Vijitha Thero.

Major General K M V Kodituwakku ndc, the Deputy General Officer Commanding of the 21 Infantry Division, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The event was organised under the guidance of Brigadier T D P Siriwardhana psc, the Commander of the 211 Infantry Brigade and coordinated by Major R M V B Samaranayake, the Commanding Officer of 5 (V) Gajaba Regiment, with the support of officers and soldiers. Also were present Colonel L W B Ridimahaliyadda USP IG - the Colonel General Officer of the 21 Infantry Division, Lieutenant Colonel C Jayaweera KSP - Civil Affairs Officer of the 21 Infantry Division, Lieutenant Colonel M P Kumara RSP - Civil Affairs Officer of the 211 Infantry Brigade, together with other officers, soldiers and family members were well-wishers to the sponsor Mr. Rajapaksha.
