At the request of the Father Nobert Andraradhi, Bishop of the North Central Province, the Dharma Teaching and Bible Service Centre based at St. Joseph’s Cathedral in Anuradhapura successfully organized the 2025 Padavi Children’s Rally.
The event took place on August 8, 9, and 10, 2025, within the cathedral premises, bringing together around 450 Catholic students from Grade 6 to Grade 11 across the North Central Province who attended Sunday religious education classes, along with approximately 50 dedicated teachers.
Under the guidance of the Commander Security Force (Wanni) and the supervision of the General Officer Commanding 21 Infantry Division, with active involvement from the Commander 212 Infantry Brigade and other officers and soldiers, the event received strong logistical and material support. This included the provision of essential items and equipment for the celebrations, manpower assistance, a special lecture on child protection, and practical training sessions for the participating children.
The program not only enriched the students’ religious education but also fostered discipline, unity, and community spirit, marking another milestone in the partnership between the Church and the local community.
