A comprehensive dog vaccination and sterilization programme is presently being conducted with the support of 54 infantry division on the vision, guidance and direction of Major General K M P S B Kulatunga RSP ndc psc Commander Security Forces (Wanni) and with the execution Major General A M C P Wijayarathne RWP RSP nps psc, General Officer Commanding 54 Infantry Division, in collaboration of Bridging Lanka and Veterinary partner "Vets for Future" in 543 Infantry Brigade area. This progamme commenced on 24 March and will be carried out until 6 April 2025.
This initiative aimed to control the stray dog population and prevent the spread of diseases, contributing to a healthier environment.
The project reflects the military’s commitment to public health and environmental sustainability, ensuring the well-being of both humans and animals in the region.
