COMMANDER SECURITY FORCES (W) VISITS FLOOD - AFFECTED AREAS IN MULLAITHIVU

Major General J P C Peiris RWP RSP ndc, Commander Security Forces (Wanni), made an observation tour to the flood affected areas in 59 Infantry Division Mullaithivu. The aim of the visit is to assess the progress of relief services and humanitarian assistance provided by troops in coordination with government officials.

During his visit, Commander Security Forces (Wanni) gave a special attention the transportability of Wadduvakal Causeway which was obstructed due to prevailing adverse weather condition in the area. In the meantime, he visited IDP center establish at Government Tamil Mixed School in Kokkilai and in quired the health and well-being of the villagers who have been affected by the flood condition.

Major General DRN Hettiarachchi RWP RSP USP, General Officer Commanding 59 Infantry Division, Brigadier MJ Ubeysekara RSP psc, Commander 591 Infantry Brigade,Senior Officers and Officers took part in the visit.
