GENERAL OFFICER COMMANDING 56 INFANTRY DIVISION VISITS 561 INFANTRY BRIGADE AND SUBORDINATE UNITS

On November 2, 2024, Brigadier M P N A Muthumala USP psc, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 56 Infantry Division, conducted a formal visit to the 561 Infantry Brigade and its subordinate units, including the 16 Sri Lanka Singha Regiment and the 10 Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment. This visit focused on assessing operational readiness, boosting morale, and strengthening cohesion among the units under his command.

Upon arrival, Brigadier M P N A Muthumala USP psc was greeted by Commander 561 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier BD Fernando USP Hdmc psc, along with Commanding Officers, senior officers, junior officers and senior non-commissioned officers. He met closely with the troops, addressing their concerns, offering motivation, and reinforcing the importance of vigilance, discipline, and dedication. The GOC also provided strategic guidance on future objectives, emphasizing the need to maintain high standards of military professionalism. The visit included a field inspection of previous A Company at Puthur and B Company at Nadunkerny 16 SLSR. In a gesture of appreciation, Brigadier M P N A Muthumala USP psc, signed the visitors' book to formally conclude his visit.
