56 INFANTRY DIVISION MARKS ITS 27TH ANNIVERSARY WITH A SERIES OF COMMEMORATIVE EVENTS

The 56 Infantry Division celebrated its 27th Anniversary at the Division Headquarters, under the leadership of Major General S.Kasthurimudali RSP ndc psc, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 56 Infantry Division on 17 October 2024.

Coinciding with the 27th Anniversary there were series of religious activities including Buddhist, Hindu, Islamic and Christian to evoke blessings for the Division.

The respective events terminated on 17 September 2024 with a troop address by GOC, who praised the troops for their dedication, professionalism, and contribution to the Division’s success and underscored the importance of unity, discipline, and service, qualities that have been at the core of the 56 Infantry Division’s legacy. Afterwards the GOC joined the troops for an All-Ranks lunch, symbolizing the close bonds within the Division and fostering a sense of camaraderie among Officers, Non-Commissioned Officers.
