In a heart-warming tribute to the 75th anniversary of the Sri Lanka Army, a newly renovated home was handed over to a deserving family of five members, in Mankadawala on 15th October 2024. This remarkable project underscores the Army's unwavering commitment to community service and support.
The renovation was completed under the meticulous directions of Major General J P C Peiris RWP RSP ndc, the Commander of the Security Forces (Wanni), with guidance from Major General T A Peris ptsc - Log Comnd (Wanni) supervised the entire initiative, ensuring its success.
Major M G D C Sikurajapathi USP psc Lsc, the Commanding Officer of the 5th Regiment of the Sri Lanka Army Electrical and mechanical engineers, played a pivotal role alongside all ranks of the Battalion and generous donors who dedicated their efforts to constructing this home. Their hard work and dedication were formally recognized during the inauguration ceremony, which was graced by the Commander of the Security Forces (Wanni).
The Sri Lanka Army has sacrificed much for the country over the course of 75 years, and this effort is a monument to their commitment, empathy, and cohesion.
