In a remarkable display of community support and military commitment, the 10(V) Gamunu Watch has completed the construction of a new house for a deserving family in Kuruil, Wattakandal, Mannar on 12 October 2024 in line with the 75th Army Day under the conceptual layout of Commander of the Army.
The project was completed under the directions of Major General J.P.C Peiris RWP RSP ndc, the Commander of the Security Forces (Wanni), and the guidance of Major General R P A R P Rajapaksha RSP, , General Officer Commanding of the 54 Infantry Division. Brigadier B Y C Fernando RWP USP, Commander 541 Infantry Brigade supervised the project.
Lt Col W G G S Bandara, the Commanding Officer of the 10(V) Gamunu Watch, along with all Ranks of the Battalion dedicated their efforts to construct the home. Their hard work and dedication were formally recognized during the inauguration ceremony, which was graced by the Commander of the Security Forces (Wanni).
