75TH ARMY ANNIVERSARY SOFT BALL CRICKET ENCOUNTER AND MUSICAL FIESTA ORGANIZED BY SECURITY FORCE HEADQUARTERS (WANNI)

In Parallel to the forthcoming Army 75th Anniversary Celebration (on 10th October), Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) organized Soft Ball Cricket tournament within the branches of Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) on 3rd October 2024 at Force Headquarters playground. Out of seven teams took part in the tournament Provost Company team of 3 SLCMP emerged as the champions and while the Commander’s Security team secured Runner-Up. Major General J P C Peiris RWP RSP ndc, Commander Security Force (Wanni) graced the Cricket Encounter as the Chief Guest.

Subsequently, aimed at mental wellness and providing entertainment to the troops and civilian staff at the Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) staged a musical fiesta at the evening tuned by ‘Ran Sara’ Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment rhythm band and ‘Sath Ranga’ dancing group of the SFHQ (W) - reverberated the air for more than three hours in the evening. During the event Champions and Runner-Up Trophies were awarded to the wining teams and distributed special dry ration packs each worth more than Rs. 5,000.00 for 36 civil employees serving in the Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) coinciding with the forthcoming 75th Army anniversary.

Major General J P C Peiris RWP RSP ndc, Commander Security Force (Wanni) graced the occasion as the chief guest with Brigadier K M V Kodithuwakku, Brigadier General Staff SFHQ (W), Senior Officers, Officers,Other Ranks and Civil employees enjoyed the Musical Fiesta.
