Coinciding with the 75th Anniversary of the Sri Lanka Army which is to be celebrated in October this year, a newly constructed house was vested in Mr. Selwarasa Nawaraja, a needy family blessed with three children by Major General J P C Peiris RWP RSP ndc Commander Security Force (Wanni) in Thanduwan, Nedunkerny during a simple ceremony held on 4th September 2024. Upon his arrival, Commander Security Force (Wanni) warmly welcome by cultural dancing group and western band of Thanduwan Primary School.
The construction of house commenced under the direction of Major General U K D D P Udugama RWP RSP USP ndc psc, Commander 59 Infantry Division, and with the guidance of Brigadier G G C S Gallage RWP RSP, Commander 592 Infantry Brigade, while Major H D M A P K Dissnayke Commanding Officer 14 (V) Gemunu Watch supervised and extended their manpower and technical expertise for the construction of the house.
The project was magnificently completed with the contribution of resources by 592 Infantry Brigade and 14 (V) Gemunu Watch. Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks, and civilians participated in event.
